I'll probably figure this out eventually myself when they get mine built and delivered, but the question came to mind and I thought I'd just ask and settle it now.

The Badlands doesn't come with Sport mode, trading instead for Rock Crawl. I know I can change this in ForScan but if I don't have to go traipsing around inside my Bronco's firmware I'd prefer not to. In the mean time I saw a table somewhere that shows what each of the GOAT mode presets do, and I noticed the only difference between Sport and Baja was the 4WD setting.

Long story short then I wondered, could I not simply put the truck into the Baja GOAT mode and then switch to 4A instead of 4H and achieve basically the same thing as Sport mode, or does making any manual settings change also switch you out of the currently selected GOAT mode?

TIA

there is a fairly big diff between the two.. Baja stays in high rpm 4500 to 5000 to shift and the shifting hits harder. Baja also leaves front camera on regardless of speed

Yes, you can go Baja and switch to 4A or even 2H... but it's more aggressive and less streetable than Sport mode. The shift points are different and the turbo seems to spool higher.

Even though they look similar here, they really aren't.

Adding Sport mode is reason enough to buy a cheap cable and a cheap Forscan subscription... but when you also can turn off the annoying horn honk when stepping out of the vehicle... and the engine stop/start at idle - it's a no-brainer. It's super easy with the Excel matrix on the site.

That seems reasonable. I write embedded software for a living so it's not like ForScan hard or foreign to me. Thanks for the additional information!

Pretty sure you'll be able to tell a distinct difference between Sport and Baja/4A.

Here's a quick link to the thread with the process.

Will my dealership add sports mode to my 2022 Bronco Badlands if I'm willing to pay? If not, how can I find someone to do it in South Florida?

There is no 4A in Baja mode, but you can go 2H.
Baja mode is like a race/track mode, great on empty dirt forest roads. It makes you feel like your driving a rally car.
I enabled Sport mode. Worth it.

I seriously doubt it. I'd get to know your local 6G club and chances are someone will help you out.

I was also wondering if anyone has experienced a warranty issue from your dealership by adding sports mode? Will they deny warranty repair if they see this change when the Ford Tech plugs into your Bronco?

When you enable sport mode do you lose one of the other modes? If not why did they leave it off the badlands?

I added Rock Crawl to my WT (now I have all 8) and have had it serviced already (including lots of software updates). The added Goat Mode was unaffected - no warrantee issue. If you don't have Sport mode, you absolutely want it! It really wakes up the 2.7 - I see an instant change when I switch to it. Now I keep it on all the time. There's a bonus feature that you get - the Auto Start/Stop is disabled in Sport mode. I'm sure it makes a difference on the 2.3 as well.

Thank you helifino16 for your input. I really want to add sports mode. The dealership probably won't do it so I need someone in the South Florida area to help me out. I do not want to attempt it myself with the risk of screwing it up because its not in my field of expertise.

If anyone is experienced in unlocking sports mode in the South Florida area, please reply to this thread so we can work out an arrangement.

I've had my Badlands in for warranty work multiple times, including today (door rattle) and no one has said anything about Sport mode being an option. I highly doubt they even mess with the GOAT modes though while they're doing warranty work, unless specifically requested to.
I also doubt the techs in the bays know what models are supposed to have Sport mode or not, even if they did see it, they wouldn't even know it was non-standard.

Thank you for your input. Did you do it yourself? Or have someone do it? I need to have someone with experience in the South Florida area do it. I'm willing to pay as well. I'm afraid if I attempt it, I could screw things up. Lol.
