Just installed the wind deflector on my soft top; haven’t gotten to drive too much yet. But just a quick drive seemed to lower the wind noise a lot in lower speeds and a good bit on the interstate as well. Made a phone call and they said they could tell the difference.

Looking for a plate to attach my recovery boards to the new Gobi Molle Panel! Any suggestions?
I attached a Rock Slider Engineering strap around my spare, then bought some LONG bolts and drilled 3 holes thru the boards to attach to the RSE plate. Could do somewhat similar long bolt scenario on molle panels. Do you have molle panels installed? Pics?

No it’s been raining like crazy here in CA and now that it stopped I have the Bronco in for warranty, hoping to get them installed asap and I’ll post pics!

I was thinking of how a strap would work but I just found GP factors universal latch this morning and that latches in the handle area I think it could work bc it says can be used in a flat surface but waiting to hear back. I just don’t see holes to attach to molle and have to make sure the Molle has a good spot for it since a big majority of the molle has holes for rotopax

Any updates on what you think after another month?

Also any chance you can post pics from more angles?

Heavily considering this! Thanks!

Got my side molle panels from Gobi installed - pretty easy install once you get the pieces put in under the roof. It ended up sitting a little close to the roof rack bar that I thought it would…might have a little rubbing there but shouldn’t be bad.

Hello, just took it on a 3,100 mile trip. I like it a lot. It did cut noise down; not completely gone but better. In my experience I had multiple people I couldn’t talk on the Bluetooth because of wind noise, and after them didn’t know I was on my Bluetooth but they thought it sounded better.
I used the code badoverland to get 15% just an ig guy I talked to before I bought mine.

You rock thanks! The soft top on highway speeds is killing me. I don't think my rack added any volume but there is a different sound so there's more noise so definitely going to pick this up ASAP.

Topic: Windshield replacement with a GOBI Rack installed - anyone have any experience with this? I had scheduled a SafeLite tech to come out today to replace my windshield due to a sizeable crack. The cost was around $900 with the recalibration that is required for all the safety sensors and stuff…but that is besides the point. Apparently the Gobi rack A pillar bars prevent the tech from being able to replace the windshield. This was an at home appointment so the tech came to my house to do the job by himself. He said to call one of their shops to see if they’d be able to handle it manually if a couple guys could work on it instead of just one person. Anyone run into this situation yet? What was your solution? The tech also indicated I may need to take my pod lights off as well so they could access everything. I’m really hoping I don’t have to take everything off in order for this to get replaced.

The windshield guys I talked to didnt seem to care that I had a roof rack on..

Wind noise is not noticable now that i have the wind deflector adjusted just right. there is a fine line between it whistling and nearly silent. I ride in safari mode 98% of the time, which allows the top to flap a bit, but havent gone crazy after 10 or so 1000 mile road trips... yet.

Still playing with lighting solutions for up top...

How are you tweaking the wind deflector? I didn't know that was an option.

Moving it in and out at the ends. There’s some slack in the brackets and holes are slotted

Just installed my Gobi rack over the weekend…so far so good - love it! I was a little surprised to see how much the rear isolator plates bump up the hard top in the back…anyone else surprised by that? It didn’t bother me at all u til I saw a post on this site about someone’s hard top cracking by the bolts on the inside (not Gobi rack related at all)…makes me wonder if the plate will add stress and potentially cause cracking.

hey man I really hope you can answer this question for me... With this roof rack on a hard top, can you remove the rear panels? (the rear top and the 3 windows). I want to be sure that if I get this, I can take the rear panels on and off, I'm not concerned with the front but I have been researching a lot and I cant find any info. It would be much appreciated bro

Hey there - yes you can though I have never actually done it since I installed the rack. I have too much gear installed in the trunk and usually on the rack itself. What you have to do is loosen some stabilizer screws towards the back (easy to do) then you flip the rack backwards. It sits on hinges near the rear bumper. So the whole rack flips backwards. Obviously you need a high ceiling garage if you intend to do this in your garage…you also don’t want to have a lot of stuff installed on the rack either when you do this. Make sure to get the quick disconnects for the front so you can quickly disconnect it and flip it backwards. The disconnects would be located at the top right above the windshield. Regardless, you can still easily remove the front 3 roof panels without flipping the rack back.

I haven’t tried this but at Gobi they said you can also remove the ladders and the spare tire and then there is enough clearance to slide the rear panel out the backend.
