Wife and I can't get out schedules to work out, so I'm thinking about going solo to the off-rodeo.
Anyone else done one solo and do you think it changes the experience?

I went solo—invited my wife but she just wasn't interested. I was not the only one who went solo, but safe to say most people go with at least one other individual.

If you are solo, there is a decent chance you'll be the lead Bronco that rides with the instructor. I didn't think that was a big deal, but a handful of other solo people clearly didn't want to be the lead Bronco. Not sure why, you think you would want to be with the instructor... but... whatever. Either way, just a heads up in case that is a concern to you.

Yeah. I supposed riding with the instructor would be cool and informative.... BUT, my suggestion, is find someone else to take. Does not have to be the wife. Take a buddy. Grab a coworker. Anyone else. it is such a cool experience, and even better to be able to share it with a friend or family member. Someone who you can reminisce with about the experience 10 years from now.

By all means if you can't find someone go solo, but I brought my kids and having them along was the highlight of the trip for me.

My dad came with me, but he didn't want to drive. During lunch and at the end of the day, you can always mingle and share your experiences with others. My dad and I always found others to chat with.

I ended up going solo 'cause my friend picked up freelance at the last minute. It would have been fun to share the experience, and he was mostly there to shoot pics and video which also would have been nice.
That said, I feel like I had a better experience as a solo. As mentioned above, I got placed in the lead Bronco, got a lot more one on one time with the instructors, and also got to set a pace and do a bit unguided while they helped stragglers.
And I had plenty of fun during meals and breaks, since Bronco owners are clearly the best people... lol.

I went solo to Tx. It would have been better with the wife, my son, or a friend. Same here schedules couldn’t align and my son was too young at the time- think they have to be 13. I did ride with the guides- didn’t like it, only one was enthusiastic the others were ho hum or know it alls. I took my wife to a drive event close to home a few months later and she said she wishes she would have gone to the off-roadeo. With them opening it to go again and charging $2K for second visits, I’m sure you could find a plus 1 on here to go as your guest.

Do it, thats what I did back in April. The guide usually goes with the solo driver unless there's more than one. I rode solo in the middle of my group. I personally think it was awesome

I also did TX solo. Wife didn't care to go at all. I didn't have a guide with me at all, so I figured out CarPlay real quick, kicked on some relaxed tunes, and enjoyed my day!
It was kind of nice being able to just concentrate with no other distractions.

Isn't it $500 - $600 to bring a guest, or can you bring your wife for free?
