OP - Toyo is a solid climber. Enjoy your upgrade when it comes in. Just did Boreas Pass today to knock it off the list. I also love the Mt Crested Butte/Gothic area. 😁

Is it really necessary to dump all over Toyota, Jeep, Ford, Mike Levine, your Ford dealer, your Ford salesman, and often times on each other?

As a longtime Toyota off-roader, I currently have a 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium after owning an FJ Cruiser for 10 years, and who lives in Colorado where I have traveled extensively throughout some of the most epic mountain trails across America, I have finally thrown in the towel to Toyota and reserved a Badlands Sasquatch Lux edition on the 2nd day of reservations.

Mainly because of the weak engine and non-existing tech. The 4Runner and FJ share the same exact engine and gears, which are horribly underpowered and badly geared. My fix to that issue was a Power Commander for higher RPM gear switching, and re-gearing from factory 3.73 gears to 4.88. The technology does not even exist in a 4R. The headunit was something out of 2005 with a tiny screen and untrustworthy built-in GPS, which was replaced with a Kenwood unit. There isn't an option for a factory front locker, just their A-TRAC, which sense which wheel is off the ground and applies more power to the wheel that is touching the ground. The stock suspension is pretty weak, which I changed out for the OME BP-51 kit with Total Chaos UCAs. And you STILL cannot fit 35s without reshaping the wheel well! And there isn't an option for a heated steering wheel, which is needed here in Colorado!

So as soon as I saw that the new Bronco comes with 35s, front and rear lockers, full skid plates, heated steering wheel, AMAZING tech with the 360 camera as you are driving, 4x4 Auto option, 4.7 gears, removable top and doors and looks badass I just knew it was time to move on from Toyota to the Bronco.

Here are some pics of the adventures I've had in the 4Runner and hope to soon have in the Bronco

I’m currently driving a Taco TRD Sport thanking it every mile as it holds its value while waiting for the Badlands or arrive! Great pics!

It's called Pearl Pass and it goes between Aspen and Crested Butte 👍
And if you like to hike, the walk between crested butte and aspen isn’t too shabby either. This was just the parking lot on the aspen side. I can’t wait to check out the trails around there too!

That's the one you pick up by Breckenridge, right? Really, nice views.

Sold my 16 4Runner Pro for the same reasons.
I didn’t buy one in 2017 for the same reasons. 4runner is a great vehicle, but it has been due for a major update for a long time.

Alright, buddy, I added to the post with just a few of my favorite trails. Let me know what you think and if you want me to add more! :)
That's awesome. Thanks for sharing all of that. I have a Bronco bucket list and it's in my own state. Can't wait!
