HAMMER BUILT BRONCO THIRD BRAKE LIGHT EXTENSION

I am putting a 37 inch KO2 on the back with a 0 offset wheel. When I go to order this brake light extension if gives me the option of a 1 inch wheel spacer. Does anyone know if that is needed or not? It doesn't seem to cost anymore, I just want to make sure I get the right one.

You shouldn't need it with zero offset unless you have crazy wide wheels. The 1" spacer is necessary for the stock wheels.

I failed to order the spacer for mine, but I decided I'm not going to run the extension because I don't want to block any more of my rear view and because my 37s have helped warp my brake light forward so that it rubs the wiper with the extension installed.

Didn’t know where else to put this. When I put 35’s in my non- Sasquatch Bronco, the third brake light flexed back a bit and barely peeked over the new 35” tire which I was good with. I have since gone to 37’s and the spare was completely hiding the third brake light, so I did this as a “temporary” (read cheap red neck permanent) solution. The stock bracket has 2 extra screw holes (picture shows one screw in and other not yet) that can be used to secure the bracket roughly 1.5” higher than stock. Being only 2 screws holding it now, it does vibrate, so I cut a peice of foam and jammed it in behind it. The wires are just long enough, but you may have to cut the zip tie. I didn’t.

I'm all for these DIY fixes.

Be careful though, that piece of foam will eventually eat the paint as it gets dirt behind it. May not matter since it's hidden behind the spare.

I actually thought about that because the little rubber bumpers were starting to rub dirt through the paint. May do something different IDK.
