I dropped a screw into the wheel well and can't figure out how to remove clips from the fender liners.

The clips look to screw out, but they spin. Does anyone know how to get these clips off? Thank you!

So, the secret is to apply no pressure whatsoever while you are screwing them out. Get a fingernail between the screw and base. Use a tool especially for that purpose. Then finally just get some pliers and pull those MFs out. Jam'em back in when you're done. They stay all the same.

You need to put a flat screwdriver, putty knife, dull knife etc... under the washer to put just a little pressure toward the screw then turn the screw lefty loosey until about 3/4 inch then pull the entire thing out.

Typed while kodiakisland was posting. Same song just a different tune.

I've had my liners off several times. They are pretty damn frustrating, even with the correct tool. Most will come out as they should. A few will give you problems. Then one won't come out at all. I've pried a few out with just the tool. As long as you can find where they land, they go back in. Even if one side on the back is broken, they still hold and won't come out when you want them to.

I'd rather use pop rivets and a grinder.

They're plugs, too. You can get replacements at any auto parts store, but matching the size correctly is tricky.
