I think they are trying to follow HOG to some extent, however HOG isn't $70 bucks a year. They are following Harley's marketing plan with a full "catalogue of accessories" that you can add at the time of purchase.I understand all that. It’s still odd Ford created a membership program and pretend it’s not ran by them and then charge people for information about a vehicle of all things. I know we get it in the end but it’s still very weird to me. Maybe I’m naive but I can’t recall a single manufacturer that has anything like this for any other product.
