The trim level that would allow Ford to "peg it" with the Bronco brand is the iconic "Heritage Edition" fitted with the 5.0 liter V8.

Perhaps named the "Heritage 302", it would recall the signature 1969 thru 1977 Bronco powered by the 302 (5.0 liter) V8. This is the spec that brought the Bronco to the party.

Obviously, Ford has an applicable 5.0 V8 today.

I myself don't want an obnoxiously loud V8 alike any V8-powered Ram truck. The original Bronco was never about that. Rather, the V8 Bronco was perfect in the mature and subtle way it went about its business, without need to use excessive noise to attract attention. The Bronco has always been about its persona.

The 5.0L will fit nicely into the Bronco's modified T6 Ranger platform.

"Car guy" Jim Farley, what do you say ???

Pretty sure the overhead cam 5.0 is too wide to fit in a Bronco.

Sounds good but it will be over 100K. More than 2X what I can afford. How about a base, bare bones Bronco, 0 options except for the 5.0 for 40K?? Like back in the 60's when you could choose the 170 CI six or the 289 V8?

You had me..... right up to the point of you saying that you'd "basically" like it to be a quiet V8.

Do I want one to sound like a Mustang? No. But I'd like to hear the rumble.

As far as V8's go, I do believe @Fordified1 is correct in that there is an issue with it fitting. But there is always Baby Godzilla that would fit. I'd gladly take the naturally aspirated torque and horse power over a turbo any day. But like @JT58Bronc eluded to, that would be an over $100k Bronco, and I'm not for that.

And the 5.0 Coyote would be fine.

A youtuber group started the process of trying to shoe horn one in. There was actually a legnth issue which required them to cut a section of the front support out and reconfiguring it to make it fit in place. If memory serves me correctly it was a F150 motor/tranny and a Ranger transferase. That all said they disappeared like a fart in the wind.

There was some movement with the 7.3 swaps earlier this summer but those updates have gone silent at the moment. Eventually someone will get a V8 in there though I think there might have to be some compromise of giving up some Bronco OE features like the GOAT modes.

Three on a tree, a bare metal floor and the only luxury being an FM radio, let's go
I'm all for it! I'll take three on the floor and can do without FM radio though. 5.0 with option for E85 fuel and with dual exhaust I am all in! Oh one more thing- part time transfer case with locking hubs. For 40K I would sell two of my vehicles and buy one tomorrow. (I'd even pay 50K :)
