I’ve seen enough limited editions around to think they built more than 1966. I don’t buy it. Not common, but seen often enough to raise doubt.
Well assuming they built 3,932 (1966 2 door and 1966 4 door) for just the US market, that would be roughly 78 per state. Some more densely populated areas might even have 3x that number and less densely populated areas might have 1/10th that number.

I would expect to see then about as frequently as BRaptors or First Editions... Definitely more frequently than Everglades. Also there are a ton of Heritage editions running around, some of which might be upgraded to look like Heritage Limited Editions.

On all the Ford dealer lots within 50 miles of me I’ve seen 50-60 limited edition heritage models for sale and lots sitting for some time now , Only a couple regular edition heritage models for sale . I question the 1966 totals in 2 door and 4 door also , I’d bet the regular heritage numbers could be lower

Currently, there are still many 2024 2-door Limited's available, due to it's high price point. but very few standard Heritages (the one with the far more popular white rims).
Ford promoted the Raptor, and previously slow-selling Wildtrack. Now you see Wildtracks on the road, but many Raptor's remain in showrooms because of it's price point and the fact it isn't an everyday driver for most people.

Ford seemingly tried to make the Raptor into the halo model of the Bronco brand. I'll argue that was a huge mistake. The standard Heritage, which has received little to no attention from the sales marketing people, has the important connection back to the original Bronco which made this party possible. Thus the Heritage Edition should obviously be the halo model in the showrooms.

As stated, HE-L 1966 2 doors and 1966 4 doors but don't forget 1966 Bronco Sport Limited's. Originally each Ford dealer was supposed to get allocated one maybe two over their lifecycle. Don't know how the PNW have 50 hanging out together but they ain't cheap and either you like them or you don't. The standard HEs are a much lower price point and to me are the bargain of the Bronco litter and don't seem to hang around too long on the dealer lots.

I will also say there haven't been any that I've seen that have upgraded their look to the HE-L and really the only thing that would be available to do would be the dog-dish caps, no way are you going to find the brown plaid interior sitting around. Now there have been plenty that created their own Heritage version with white top and wheels along with some very nice touches like houndstooth interior and trimmed out grilles, heck, even a few Stroppes and at least one Big Oly that I know of.

I'm fairly confident that Ford stuck with the Limited numbers but with what I stated above they're just not finding buyers. Now the actual standard HE, we tried to figure out how many a few times but am confident to guess that it's less that 1966x2 of the Limited.

Last I checked we were under 300 Heritage Edition 2 doors, in the 270s I believe.
But production did ramp up for 24.

Standard Heritage is based off of the Big Bend with mid and with Sasquatch. The Limited is based off of a Badlands with Lux and Sasquatch.

Both have rectangular fenders, mod tops with removable windows and special graphics and wheels.
when I try to build an "heritage" on the ford website, I get a closer result with a BD instead of a BB. Is this because ford has dropped the 2.7 from the BB build recently?

It’s possible. I haven’t checked lately but considering they do include metal bash plates and metal bumpers, you could say it’s closer to a BD than a BB. In the past it would say everything included on the Big Bend plus…..

You won't remember. But this is a test for the OG B6G members. This dealer is the one that the B6G member thought he was getting an opportunity to drive a Bronco before the Bronco was released for production. Dealer swore that it was the full-size Bronco. Guy drove down eager to be one of the first to drive a Bronco only to have a Bronco Sport waiting for him. Someone from B6G who was around during the pre-production days will remember and maybe link to that thread. It is B6G gold.

I posted this on Reddit, but:

Spotted a '24 2D HLE in Peak Blue on the lot Friday morning on the way to work and traded in my 4D FE for it that afternoon.

This morning I was looking into the modular hardtop features as opposed to the older MIC top I had and from what I can tell, the rear side windows are supposed to be removable.

However, my top doesn't appear to have this. Attached is a photo of mine, showing where the release bolt should be.

I have my window sticker, but it's been so long that I don't remember how to find out my build date if that's relevant. I can tell you that it arrived on the lot last Tuesday, so it only lasted three days before I snatched it up.

Does anyone have any input? I've emailed the dealer but don't expect to hear back until tomorrow, and probably can't go in until Tuesday.

Disregard my comment as you just responded to Jim with pictures of the gunner's hatch and headliner.

Looks like you have a mule where it is a Franken-modular HT.

Feels like it might be a mid year change, but I haven’t been on here in a year or longer, so I’m not current with news like that.

The new painted HT available for Job2 orders is from a different supplier than the modular HT. The new painted HT doesn't have removable rear windows and has a different interior surface and headliner.

Yours definitely has the characteristic headliner that the modular HT comes with but is obviously missing the removable windows.
