Hi All,
Is there anything I can do about a very bad window rattle if the windows are partially opened?
It sounds as if the may break under normal driving conditions. I have brought my car in for this and was told there is nothing wrong.
The Drivers door also catches on the top lip as if tis not dropping in time when I open the door at times.

thanks for your help or suggestions.

P.S.
Anyone's hood open alarm for off for no reason?
The advice I was given, wheel with the windows all the way up or all the way down, never in between

DM’d you. Thanks for looking into it
Idk, just relaying my experience. I have 7 year 125k ESP and they wanted to charge me 300 to diagnose. Then came on here and learned about adjusting it myself. Your experience may vary at another dealer I guess. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You'd be surprised at how easy that is to fix.

Get yourself a deep 10mm socket. Open the door and lie under it. There's two rubber patches (about 2"x3") (they're plugs actually) on the bottom of the door. They pull out easily.
Loosen the nut (maybe 1/2 turn) just inside that opening and push it to the outside of the door and retighten. Repeat for the other one and replace the plugs.

The hardest part of this process for me is getting up after I'm done. It made a WORLD of difference. I can ride with the windows cracked or 1/2 way down without the annoying rattle. It still MAY happen on a rough patch of road, but is significantly less than it was.

Summer, winter, I always drive with the windows down around 1/2", and it is extremely annoying, but I've been told there is nothing that can be done at this time so I just live with it.

As far as the window hitting the top lip have you tried the window reset procedure

Windows needing reset steps:
1) open window and hold button down for 10 seconds
2) close window and hold button down for 10 seconds
repeat 2 more times on same window if needed

I’ll definitely give it a try, thanks

Thanks for the reset steps. I used to have to do this to my Mustang

Yeah the adjustments don’t fix the issue. Which is why Ford removed that TSB.
They’re still working on a fix for the concern. Current information is Q3 of this year.

It helped mine a lot, i can now drive with the window lowered, and the rattle is pretty much gone unless im hit a really rough section.

PS: i have had the hood alarm go off twice in a year and a half. both times i recently had the hood open, no idea what causes it.

Yeah it seems to help some and not others.

As far as the hood alarm, the latch probably needs to be replaced. There was an SSM for it, very common
