I built a couple of these carts to store mine. Works amazing so far! Made from 1" PVC pipe.

Do you think something like this would work as a door/top storage combo? I’ve got a two door and was thinking of going the PVC route and making it wider and taller so I could store the real top cap on top of it. My biggest concern is if the PVC has the strength to hold it.

Yes, I think PVC could work for what you want, but I would make some structural improvements to my design if you were going to try it. The 1" PVC is a little too flexy, maybe 1.5" would help? Or if you are making it taller, tying in the top so the ends can't bow out.
Also, if are putting it on a cart like I did, find a bigger one. Mine was all I could get that day, but its not great.

Using a high strength, industrial grade adhesive rubber tape...

I thought about using some U-bolts, but I haven't got back to it, and the duct tape is solid.
very nice. what about pvc/ do you think it HAS to be Schedule 40 or the other one will suffice? Also how much space did you leave for the doors? 10" ? thanks.

Here’s my solution so far. Used to remove and store. I used 1-1/2” pvc.

Doors & front 2 panels of MIC Hard Top are easy - come with supplied bags.

How are you storing the back half of the Hardtop? Assuming you don’t want to pay 1k for TopLift or have the clearance in the garage for a hoist.
