I joined up thinking I want to get a base model 2 door Bronco and I'm wondering how people like the base model trucks that they put on bigger tires (34-35"). Does the truck feel underpowered with the stock 3.73 gears (assuming 4 cyl engine)? I had a 2013 Tacoma reg cab that had 33" tires and the stock 4 cyl was only 159 hp so it was definitely underpowered, but it had 4.10 gears which made it bearable.

Buy a manual trans, comes with 4.46 gears stock in the base that will handle the bigger tires.

I think you have to remove the crash bars beyond 33” tires. Potential safety issue if that’s your thing.

On 33” tires and the steel wheels, I haven’t noticed any change in noise or performance from the 30” stock tires.

I have 4 door base.
No lift, crash bars in place.
I installed 285/75/r16 BF Goodrich A/T on base steel wheels today and the sizing is perfect for me and leaves around town throttle response in place.
Braking was affected the most in my opinion and I can definitely tell the difference in the weight/suspension after putting 2k miles on those tiny base tires, they are 30lbs each and the bfg at's are probably 55 lbs each
The 2.3 has plenty of power for the 3.73 gears at sea level and a reasonable load.(per my experience) and I was getting 20 mpg with a lead foot on base tires(gotta love that).
