I’m currently at a drive-in and I am the only one with lights on. For the life of me, I can not figure out how to turn the lights off under the mirrors. I have the tailgate and glass open. I have turned off accessory power, turned the light switch to off, all interior lights off, even tried locking the car. Is it not possible to have the gate open and those lights off? I looked for somewhere to press or put tape in to make the car think the gate was close to, to no avail.

I think they'll eventually turn off, but it might take a while.

Is there not a button to not turn on the overhead lights when the doors open?

Edit: Sorry, I either misread your OP or you edited it afterwards. It looks like you're inquiring on the Zone Lighting. As someone else mentioned, you should be able to control this on the SYNC system or even on your FordPass app on your phone. You can turn on and off the Zone Lighting. I still believe it will go out on its own eventually, as to not kill the battery.

Since you’re in park on the touchscreen you can control all the exterior lights. Go into Features then Zone lights.

Dang it—-I just tried this and the smaller lights under the mirror still stay on.

They are not the ones controlled by zone lighting. They are the lights under the mirrors. They have been on for an hour so far… all zone lights and interior lights are off. All headlights are switched to off, ambient lighting is off. These just won’t go off….

Close the tailgate, but leave the glass open?

For the record, the lights under the mirror are part of the "Zone Lighting."

Quick win: Ask for two empty popcorn bags and place them over your side mirrors. Problem solved...

Or better yet, just buy two bags of popcorn because who doesn't love popcorn?

Side note, the truck turns off to save power, can’t even watch a movie without starting it. I have a 1968 I should have brought! Ha

I just went out and played with my mirror lights. There are either two sets or two settings. The DM one light is really bright. The “there is a door open lights” aren’t as bright.

Never knew that/paid that close attention before - Still same shit, different pile though lol. Both would drive me nuts at a drive-in.
