Patience, grasshopper.

My '15 Mustang sat in a rail lot for the better part of a month before it finally made the final 1.5 hour ride to the dealer.

My 2022 WT took 27 months after July 2020 order back in the old days! Had to call Ford + Local Dealer often.Back then afraid to drop order as they were selling for up to $30,000 above MSRP.Look on the bright side Farley got a $27,000,000 bonus.Like the Sales Pukes say "We All Got TO Eat"

I ordered mine November 2020, it arrived at my dealer January 2022... back in the day, I thought I was one of the lucky ones.

With the old pizza tracker, I remember my 4 door (originally a ‘22 order), it arrived by rail to the transport place, then it just sat on a side rail for 2 weeks waiting to be off loaded. It was just a 45 minute ride from my house, just sitting there. My wife told me I couldn’t babysit it. I was gonna camp out and all next to the rail car, I had the railcar number, it needed me. 12 months from order to arrival at dealer.

Ha ha, that's a great story so thanks for sharing it - snd the angst you felt. That would have been maddening.

Happy waiting! I believe mine took around a month after being shipped; Sept. 2022 to October 2022.

I would bet it went by rail to some location in the northwest USA, then after it goes through whatever custom procedures, it gets shipped by truck to your location. Just a guess.
I think you are right Mike. I think the window sticker will say CONVOY if the Bronco wasn't loaded directly to rail at the plant.

Our Badlands was shipped by rail to Calgary last year on May 16. It crossed the border at Portal ND, and was transferred to a car hauler in the Calgary rail yard. We took delivery on June 2. Going to Victoria, I think the crossing would be the same and the Bronco would be transferred to truck in the Lower Mainland, and then be ferried to the Island.

That's bang on. I emailed my dealer and he said my Bronco is now in a railyard in Vancouver and waiting for a transport truck to bring it to the Island. He couldn't give me a date on when that would happen (!) and although he didnt come out and say it (and I didn't press the issue), his vagueness of when it is going to ferry across makes me suspect it is sitting there perhaps because of some backlog induced by the Infotainment stop sell recall currently in effect; the rationale being they are not going to burden dealers with a fresh influx of 26s until they can get their current ones fixed, but who knows? Mine rolled off the line on Feb 24, some two weeks past the build date of those affected by the recall - and my VIN shows no outstanding recalls - so perhaps its just a victim of bad timing when it comes to making the final leg of this journey. Or perhaps, I'm just too impatient. 😆

Since you unfortunately have time to kill while you wait for your new rig... the title of your thread reminded me of a meme that involved walking that said that AI could be a bad choice for some decisions.
I entered the same question, and the meme was not a joke.

Here is the question and the AI reply:

I need to wash my car. The car was is 300 feet away, should I walk or drive?

If the wash is only 300 feet away, the short answer is: walk. It’s almost always the smarter move unless there’s a specific reason not to.
Why walking makes more sense
  • 300 feet is basically next door — you’ll spend more time starting the car than walking.
  • You avoid dirtying the car again with a 10‑second drive (dust, pollen, brake dust).
  • No need to jockey for a parking spot or deal with tight maneuvering.
  • Saves fuel and avoids a cold start, which is the least efficient part of driving.
  • You’re washing the car anyway, so you don’t need to arrive in a vehicle that’s already been driven.
When driving might make sense
  • You’re carrying heavy supplies (buckets, tools, multiple products).
  • The route is unsafe to walk (no sidewalk, heavy traffic).
  • You have mobility limitations or the weather is awful.
My take
For most people, walking is the cleanest, simplest, and fastest choice for 300 feet.
One thing that would help me refine this: Are you washing the car yourself or using an automated car wash?

I don't know what the car market is like in BC, but last year in Alberta there were so many vehicles coming in that car-haulers were working flat out. There was no way to leave units in the rail yard, and the dealer I bought the Badlands from was renting storage all over the city. They were very keen in us taking delivery ASAP.

Good luck with your unit. Ours is primarily my wife's ride, and we use it mostly in summer in Oregon, where we vacation for a few months. It is an unbelievably fun summer vehicle.

My Badlands was shipped March 2 and has yet to arrive at the dealer. According to Ford’s order tracking website, the originally provided ETA window of March 25-31 is now April 3-9! That's 38 days if one considers the far end of the window. I live on the other side of the continent and realize it wouldn't be an expedient delivery but according to Google Maps I could have walked from my home to the factory in less time! lol. So what is the transport truck doing? Does one's Bronco get passed off between different transport trucks at various points along the journey (and languish in holding lots between transfers)?... because I can't imagine a single truck taking that long to make the journey. If anyone is familiar with convoy logistics, please chime in.
If I can give you any advice, it would be to ignore the tracker site. It’s wildly unreliable. Last year, I ordered mine on March 14th and took delivery on July 31st. You just need to be patient. When it arrives, they will let you know.
