There are plenty of aerospace companies with the tooling, manufacturing space, and workforce to crank out these simple tops. Shoot, in the 70s Grumman made aluminum canoes as a side business. Many WWII aero companies made 1950s campers. But -
I'm not thinking that way. I'm thinking they need to do what Steve Jobs did with the early Apple computers. He totally automated the factory and EVERYTHING was made by robots. You don't need some assembly technician unsticking the tops from their forms, moving WIP to the next pedestal work station. You need machines and robots doing all the work, and the humans can go away. Then they will crank out all the Modular Tops needed JIT.
