See photo. This shows almost 3” clearance from Badlands tire. Who took this? Was the wheel turned? Or maybe the perspective of the bar in the background is throwing this off.

@LEGEND gave us dimension at the factory that were 18.5” from center spindle to each crash bar. Meaning 37” between crash bars. BL tire is 32.7” so the distance from wheel to crash bars should be 2.15 inches. However if the photo below is correct and we have upwards of 3” each side we may be able to go to 34s without modding crash bar without a lift.

reattached drawing shows how close a 33.2 comes to crash bars but that’s set to the 18.5” dimension to spindle. if we have more clearance I could see 34s fitting.

maybe the perspective is throwing me off. If you extend crashbars from background toforeground maybe 3” becomes closer to 2.15”. Maybe the person, or @LEGEND could provide more clarity?

I was going to say don't overthink this. lol The stock ones should have some adjustment to them which should allow going up one size. There will be aftermarket crash bars just like on the Ranger so you can add larger tires and still have them in place.

haha I know. But it’s another quiet COVID weekend with more bronco delays and a dead forum. Need something new to get the gears going

Yeah, I'm hoping so. It's almost like the ones on this BL are angled, and the ones on the BD (i believe) in the crash bar thread looked like they were coming out at a 90 degrees from the frame.

Someone mentioned those are not representative of what production models will have.

thats got to be it. Here are the bars on a BD with smaller wheels. I guess @legends dimension is accurate and more inline with production...and the BL crash bars are different or just more spaced out and not indicative of production safety needs

I might be totally wrong but I remember seeing this about the crash bars:

Hi all,

Also made it to the expo today. I asked about the crash bars and rep said they are not representative of final production. Then I asked about the bolts and open tubing in the area of the crash bars (possibly a part of the crash bar assembly). The rep said Ford is testing mounting equipment below the body. He couldn't describe what Ford has tested mounting in terms I could understand, but I was glad they had any answer at all. Thanks to all who gathered data!

Oh! You took diagonal dimensions to the crash bars??. We thought it was the horizontal plane. If true that jeopardizes 33s

You mean
Or forward, oops!
you mean they are both angled towards the front of the car? Or they are angled in opposite directions ‘forked’, away from the face of the wheel?
