My install completely echoes this. Too much plastic around the Mabett plug to connect cleanly. Installed the light as it was just to see if it'd work and it remained loose in the ceiling plastic with some gaps. I pulled it back out, relocated the gray adhesive strips to outside the indentions, and then stuck on three thicker double sided tape in the indentions. I used whatever double sided foam tape I had lying around. After all that it seems to hold and I don't think I hear any rattles...

Thanks for the tips! Mine finally arrived and I hope to install this weekend.

@Mabett I am having the same issue as mentioned above, I cannot get the connector to click into place no matter how hard I try and what angle/coaxing. Do you have any suggestions? Otherwise I may initiate return through Amazon. Looks like you've been very responsive and supportive through here so I thought i'd see what your thoughts were prior to going through amazon. Thanks

Same with the connector issue. But it went in enough to work and I don't think it is going to back itself out.

Yep, I did the same. Mine was in tight enough, I don't think it will come out. If I was really worried about it, I would just put a little tight around the connection.

Mine arrived yesterday and I installed it today! I agree that the hardest part is removing the factory light, but eventually it pried out with plastic trim removal tools. I added thicker 3M double sided tape over the 3 areas of tape that came with the light. The new light popped right into place easily and is so much brighter! Thanks Mabett!

Doesn't look like it fits the 2 door models? Wonder what the difference is?

The roll bar trim piece is different on the 2-door and the 4-door...
