Interior Bike Rack

I'm curious how this setup worked out for you. I'm looking for a solution to keep my mountain bike upright inside the bronco. Is the bike stable? It looks like it would just fall over. Have you tried anything else? Thanks.

It was fairly stable... it never fell over. I only ran this setup a couple of times, and I started running the straps higher on the fork for more downforce after this.

If you want to store the bike upright, I'd get a fork mount. I have one for when I shuttle four bikes (one inside and three on the rack). This is the best photo I could find of the fork mount set-up. It's just a fork mount mounted to a piece of wood, and I use a screw hook and a turnbuckle to anchor the wood to the tie-down points.

Here’s what we did for a 3week/5800mi road trip with off-roading and cycling. Had to drop the seats, but fit perfectly. Still were able to fit 4 suitcases, gear bags a soft side Yeti cooler inside. Some recovery gear and a few extra gear bags in the roof box. For short day trips when we would bike, we put the bikes on a roof rack for easy access.

Here's our design. Rear seat removed. Aluminum frame is for sleeping platform (using bed slats with velcro to hold in place - when bikes removed). Fridge sits behind the driver seat. Two Jerry cans for water (10gal) one is a Lifesaver (filters h20). 150AH Lithium battery. Two ARB compressors under the floor. Has 2000w inverter for bike charging and induction cooktop. 200w solar on the roof. 50amp DC charger (alternator). Starlink on the roof.

Bikes are 29" Trek Rail eMTB.

Fitting bikes was the reason for the 4dr. We have a 2dr as well.
