It was fairly stable... it never fell over. I only ran this setup a couple of times, and I started running the straps higher on the fork for more downforce after this.I'm curious how this setup worked out for you. I'm looking for a solution to keep my mountain bike upright inside the bronco. Is the bike stable? It looks like it would just fall over. Have you tried anything else? Thanks.
If you want to store the bike upright, I'd get a fork mount. I have one for when I shuttle four bikes (one inside and three on the rack). This is the best photo I could find of the fork mount set-up. It's just a fork mount mounted to a piece of wood, and I use a screw hook and a turnbuckle to anchor the wood to the tie-down points.
