Interior tailgate door paint protection

Curious if anyone else is concerned about the painted interior of the tailgate door getting scratched up? I have seen a lot of vintage Broncos with the paint back there all scarred up. I’m thinking about covering it with Xpel clear paint film, or something similar.
Any other ideas to protect this area in a way that looks good?

Covered the bottom with clear PPF (StickerFab sells clear door sill protectors that I used). For the rest of the tailgate, I mount stickers that serve to document friendships and the journey. They also serve as a sacrificial PPF of sorts.

I'd get a roll of Xpel Armor and put it on the tailgate. It's thicker and would work better than traditional PPF for a spot like that.

DIY applied the ArmorUp clear Paint Protection Film 6"x120" from amazon for all 4 doors. It took some time Installing but was worth it.
