The painted inside of my tailgate gets the crap beat out of it during trips, off road, and general use having things in the back. Is there any type of protection that attaches to the tailgate that cuts down on that?

You could get a piece of PPF and slap it on there.

Do you have a Tailgate Table in your plans? That would help protect the paint on the inside.

Here is the JCR Table installed. No drilling required.

Mine got beat up too, I put a MOLLE panel on it. Adds protection and a little bit of storage. You can find relatively cheap ones on amazon.

I had the inside of my swing gate lined with PPF. I would post a picture, but I don’t think you would see anything. :)
I was worried about the interior paint getting chewed up by luggage, pets, gear, tools, etc. hopefully this helps. Very happy with the PPF guy I found in Georgia (Atlanta area). Happy to refer him to anyone looking. DM me.
