How did you go about removing the side badge?I would love a metal side badge instead of plastic or a sticker.
The current sticker reminds me of a Garfield bike reflector I got in a Frosted Flakes box when I was a kid in the 80's.
I'm planning on blacking out the wheels and maybe adding orange to the Bronco lettering, like in my avatar.
It just peels right off on a nice warm sunny day.How did you go about removing the side badge?
Nice! For anyone who cares, I found gun metal script on Amazon for the fenders, which came out nice. Couldn't find a tailgate emblem to match, but found out that Duplicolor Graphite wheel paint matched the Badlands grill almost perfectly. Ordered a black emblem and painted it. Looks nice with the carbonized gray trim rings and top.
The script doesn't match so much as the tailgate. I might get another pair and use the paint on them. But, I do like the gun metal script as opposed to black.Nice!
Can we get some more pics of those fenders and maybe with the grill in the pic too to compare?
Thank you! Neither here nor there. I have the same optional wheel and love them. The script doesn't match so much as the tailgate. I might get another pair and use the paint on them. But, I do like the gun metal script as opposed to black.
I literally just installed the tailgate badge today, so time will tell. But I would imagine it is well protected back there. I did not use any clear coat but it still has a little gloss to it. I did scuff the black emblem I got on Amazon with a green Scotchbrite pad. I think the paint adhered pretty well. If I were to redo the fender script, I would probably put a few coats of clear on it for durability.Thank you! Neither here nor there. I have the same optional wheel and love them.
How well has the paint held up since you installed?
Did you use any plastic adhesion promoter or other products before applying?
Is it a satin finish like the grill or more glossy or matte?
Thanks for answering my thousand questions. I'm looking to do this when it's warmer and this is a great alternative to getting a custom paint mixed.
Badges? We ain't got no badges! We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinking badges! What kinds of badges?
Sorry I meant the fender flares.I literally just installed the tailgate badge today, so time will tell. But I would imagine it is well protected back there. Worse case scenario, these badges are inexpensive and easy enough to replace, if need be.
I did not paint the flares.Sorry I meant the fender flares.
