Please do not use our brand's roof rack to suggest products to another brand. Much appreciated.
I think it was a misunderstanding here, Iposted this image here first "as a mistake" (look at the time of post) it was suppose to be for Trailrax. Not this chat, but also there's other company's trying to solve this issue, very similar to what i proposed, i was just pointing out that you guys have 90% of the design need there, but there's nothing new and innovative to what others have proposed in here.
I was saying that you have most of the components there, but like you say, you have no interest in this designs, that's ok, some of us are helping others to develop something we need.

I also use that image of the rack because it was a good image to use a a base and to explain..

cheers !

And kudos for everyone taking this design challenge

Just ordered a short rack for my 2 door. OEM Full rack would've made more sense if it came with a 3rd crossbar. It's basically a shortie rack anyway. Now I can get the panels off easier.

actually looks great!

my use case is probably a few storage totes (gear), the tops in the bag, or recovery boards. guessing that is good.

assume the front panels can be removed without interference?

can you remove the whole roof and leave it intact?

still curious on noise difference. full rack has the deflector.

@JcrOffroad any thoughts?
I just bought the short rack for my 2 dr. Can you suggest any cargo boxes that are compatible with the short rack?

Also, these are the correct slide in t-nuts. the cross bars are made by 8020 and these are the ones that fit.

https://amazon.com/gp/product/B00TG33Q58

you can get the ones on jcr site (or ones like those). but i went through a bunch of wrong ones in a slide in t-nut style in my search.

Is the 4 door half rack secure enough to hoist the entire clamshell? (Connect straps to half rack and lift)

I certainly wouldn't. Not enough structural integrity where them lil claws are chomping on the top.

I have this lift in tandem with the jcr top. it loops a fabric support under the top to secure it.

Thanks for confirming how yours works. I’ve been considering that brand for a long time. Just seems expensive for what it is. I was hoping a basic winch would work just as well, if the rack was strong.

IMO, this seems like the best roof rack out there for the 2 door: Full rack that transitions to rear rack only, ability to remove tops with rack installed, and it seems extra sturdy compared to some others (double plates on front half of rack, and 2 mounts per side on rear cap). Nice work! One thing I'm wondering is does the light bar install to the wind deflector? It's hard to tell from the few images I've seen of the light bar version.

We have mounts that attached it to the first crossbar.

@JcrOffroad I have the full rack for my wife’s 4 door and we love it. I do have a question though. We are getting a pretty good whistle noise from what I assume is the cross bar channels at highway speeds. It was there before the roof top tent and I hoped the tent would help deflect the wind. On my frontrunner rack for my f150 they had a rubber seal that I purchased to stick into the channels of the cross bars and that got rid of the whistle. Do you guys have anything or recommend anything like that? Either way we still love your products!!
