Dig it! I might have to do that half rack because taking the roof panels off is kinda hard with factory roof rails.

How are you securing the short version to the 2-door hardtop? Other companies have been unable to figure out a solution.

We will be drilling. Because of the size and usefulness of a short 2-door rack, we think it’s worth it.

Can the full rack be installed without the factory black plastic clips and accessory ready caps? For example, can you only install the mounting brackets and leave them off? Would prefer to keep the clips/caps unmodified for switching between the full and half rack.

Yes. You can leave the front mount covers off.
