Ratchet strap a Jerry can holder to the passenger side of the spare, straps around the circumference of the tire?
And the good news is I happen to have vintage examples of both can and carrier. Installing the spare tire carrier on my cargo conversion just moved up in the queue, so I can test this WAY before Bronco arrives. Thanks.

I was having the same dilemma with wanting to add a fuel can to my two-door to increase my range. I found a place that sells Ford parts for about 40% off, and I bought the Raptor hinges which are far superior to the OEM hinges we have...they're about seven and a half pounds each and they have mounting provisions on them inward of the holes that mount the hinge to the tailgate. There's a fabrication company on this forum who just cut out a tailgate reinforcement plate for me that's intended to fit those Raptor hinges, and they are also in the middle of making a fuel can carrier that's intended to fit the Scepter MFC. Although they don't sell the Scepter cans in the US, there's a site from which you can buy them in Canada...and the benefit of them is that they are far lighter than a steel Jerry can and they are nearly indestructible. With the much stronger hinges, and the far lighter MFC, and the carrier that will be made out of aluminum which will probably weigh less than 7 lb, our tailgates will be able to support that additional weight with the tailgate bracket and accessories. Hinges look like this:

So I noticed on the RTR Bronco there's a mount on the tailgate for Jerry cans. However, I can not find anywhere, not even the RTR site yet (just wheels) that has something similar. Has anybody seen such a thing?

Given that I've converted to a cloth roof, a roof rack is out, and I'm not too keen to be keeping gas cans inside a bouncing around vehicle.
Check out the Raket roof rack that is being developed for a soft top - I’ve been following that development and it’s looking pretty good.

Following. Hopefully we can find out the Raptor hinge PNs soon. I like the idea of having the additional mounting points.

Different PNs for upper and lower. Tyson is in the process of fabricating Hammer Built hinges and he will be finishing up on the MFC carrier this week.

THANK YOU THANK YOU
Anytime you can get anything Ford from that site at much cheaper than the local stealerships...let me know if you have questions about mounting. They ship only as an assembly but you won't have to use the pillar brackets because you can reuse yours the part numbers are the same. You will have to paint them, and I highly recommend making a plate that helps you maintain the alignment... Home Depot and under 20 bucks.

You reuse the torx bolts for your hinge. I just used wedges underneath my tailgate to mark the initial position and then in the sides and then I took pictures of where those wedges were located...then I removed the tailgate and put it off to the side without detaching the electrical harness, then then swung the hinges out while they were still attached to the pillar brackets and then marked the holes on the piece of sheet metal from Home Depot. That I drilled them with 10 mm holes, then put the torx heads back in and then tightened up some nuts on the back. Then I used gorilla epoxy to affix the nuts to the back of the nut plate and let it dry. Then when I got my hinges and painted them, I detached the top hinge and then attached the plate to the bottom hinge and then used the top two holes as the reference point to put on my top hinge. Then I did the same thing after I tightened the top hinge to the bottom hinge. I also made sure I used a fine permanent marker to trace around the location of where the hinges bolted to the pillar brackets. It may seem like a lot but it's no big deal and most of our tailgates are off slightly from the factory in terms of alignment so it gave me a chance to get mine where it needed to be.
