We eliminated the mesh over the speakers. We were concerned about how it would stretch out over a few years. Also made installation cleaner and easier!

I took that interior pic with the top closed. It’s a great balance of see through and shade. I’m thinking in the winter months of putting a moving blanket on top of the bimini and under the soft top to provide an additional layer of insulation and a bit of noise absorption. Not sure if it’ll work, but worth a try.
It does works but what works better is a layer of double bubble radiant barrier. It's used as insullation and sold by the roll at Home Depot or Lowes.
What is the UV rating on black and I guess black is much hotter?
Actually the color of the mesh is insignificant in heat transfer. The Black is rated 80% UV our titanium is rated at 90%. The weave of the titanium is tighter so it blocks more UV but you can still see right through it. The mesh will reduce temps by 25 degrees. You can see in the pic the darker area on the dash is the shade, the lighter is direct sun. None of the surfaces under the shade will be hot to the touch.
