Just my "what does he know" opinion here, I'll try to be as brief as I can. It starts with the Bronco sport, and reasons why I feel it shouldn't have been givin any name related to the full size icon legend.
The Bronco sport recently has become one of the hottest sellers in its vehicle segment respectively. That's all fine and dandy, and I'm very proud of it, I just feel it shouldn't have been given a name related to the full size Bronco but still somewhere in the horse stable, but smaller. I feel Ford marketing did this to expand the Bronco name- that I don't agree with. I mean, you don't see Jeep using sub names for their Wrangler or Rubicon lines for their smaller vehicles, they have completely different names for example the renegade. My opinion is when you think of Bronco- the full size model should be the only one that comes to mind. There are over 20 breeds of smaller horses or ponies that would have been better appropriate for choice names for the smaller vehicle.
Ford has recently resurrected the Maverick name for their ultra popular smaller pickup. Perhaps resurrecting the name Pinto, minus any gas tank jokes of course lol.
On another note, although the name WildTrak (Bronco) is fitting (I have one on the way myself
), I feel SportTrack would be more appropriate, especially in regards to Fords high performance ST division line. ST - SportTrak, makes better sense to me. in addition, although Fords 2.7 l twin turbo is a very adequate power plant for the trim, Fords 3.0 l 400+hp would have made a much better deserving choice, and Ford's Coyote 5.0 l would be under the hood of the Bronco Raptor..much more deserving I think... Just don't come at me too bad if you don't agree with me
