Keyless Entry Code Card (Easter Egg.!)

I added the keypad to my 2dr and 4dr Broncos because it is a feature that I have enjoyed on my Ford’s since 1986.! Both installs were done at the dealer with a hefty service charge for the programming.! When installing my brake controller I found this door entry code card on the fuse panel under the driver’s side dash. It is on both Broncos. It is the same card that is found with the owners manual if your Ford comes factory equipped with a keypad. FYI, if you’re adding the keypad, this card MAY be all you need to "do it yourself".! (I don’t mind these codes being public because neither work since the dealer reprogrammed both Broncos)

Nope that code doesn’t work for chit!! Nada nothing. If someone found the wiring connectors, and wired keypad to get it connected properly maybe it could work. But since it keypads are just a glorified key fob that code does nothing at all for us. I’ve tried it still had to go to the dealer to get it working. By dealer my buddy works for ford and let me watch the process. They hook as laptop up and have to download and install the module into the bronco’s computer system. Then the numbers on the card that comes with the keypad gets used. That one under the dash never comes into play.

Thanks for the response.! I suspected that. Maybe that’s the code that is programmed in the key fob.! That’s why I capitalized "MAY".! Still brings the question…Why?…..Why is it there.?

It is used when you have to reprogram the key fobs, as part of the immobilizer system. It's kind of like an override code, to put it very loosely.

I work for a repo company, in the storage lot, and when we get Fords in without a key (90% since we're repoing them) you have to use this key code to put in the coder in order to be able to reprogram/wipe the old fob codes.

It's so

A) we can program a new fob to start /drive the vehicle (to move it around the lot, or if the bank decides the debtor isn't getting the car back, it needs at least 1 key when they send it to auction)

B) we wipe the old codes and use a new one so the debtor can't come to the yard in the middle of the night, climb the fence and use their key to start the truck and smash the fence to get out (it's happened before.)

Most of what I do is getting into (breaking into, either by picking the lock or wedging the window and tooling my way into the cars) and re-keying or re-programming the system for new fobs.

On my old F150, you used a code to change the keypad combo, but mine was behind the back seat and it was an ordeal to get to it. I think that's a different code. I found out how to change it on YouTube.

We never change the door keypads at work, so I dunno if this is that code as well or not.
