I came across a video from UG where they relocated the entry pad to the inner fuel filler door. Has anyone here done this? If so, how’s it going, pros/cons, etc.?

Inside fuel door here.

Caveat: I didn’t “relocate” - I added it after the fact. Ordered from Ford and had the dealer install it so they can do the programming to activate it.

No cons. Save that I really never use it. I only got it for one specific scenario: tubing down the river so I could lock my keys inside the truck. And haven’t done that yet.

For day-to-day use….I really don’t have a need for it. But it was “free” using my rewards points so…..what the hell.

For anyone who has relocated it, can you confirm it's mounted with something like 3M mounting tape? I just want to know how challenging it would be to reinstall somewhere besides my driver's door.

Even on your door is with 3M tape. The keypad is wireless and you could instead carry it around in your pocket. There is no requirement that it be attached to vehicle, just close enough to connect.

I presume that the keyless unlock on door handles does not work when keyfob is inside vehicle?

My .02 - leave it where it's supposed to be so it's not in an annoying random place everytime you want to use it. I pretty much leave keys in car at all times and lock/unlock vehicle exclusively with the keypad. If you move it somewhere else, it takes away that convenience. People will say just use your phone, but keypad is waaaay faster and less annoying vs. opening the app.

Using it would also allow you to lock your phone in the truck. Like when you're rafting or something? [Tip of the hat to Figmo, above.]

I have locked the FOB in the truck when I dropped it off at the local shop for upgrades before they were open. I just call and give them the code and they can open it and do the work (they don't have an after-hours key drop). One time they tried locking it back up for me to pick up but for some reason it wouldn't stay locked -- but has previously. They called and I just used the app to lock it. I always test with the back door handle since it doesn't have the unlock button on it.
