Leaving back window open

No one is concerned about the window shattering when it slams shut?

If the Spare Tire is there, the window will only come down to the point in which it makes contact with it. In other words..... the window can't slam shut if the spare tire is there.

Also.... the gas cylinders will have to fail for the window to slam shut (also, again if the spare tire wasn't there).

I would think that the spare tire makes it more likely to shatter, because the window will slam on a smaller surface area (the tire) instead of spreading the force evenly across the entire window.

Those struts don’t stand a chance of holding that window up when you hit a dip at 75 mph.

I haven't tried it but I would like to leave the back window open in the summer. I'm curious if anyone has driven around with it open and did it stay up fine?

Sounds like a good way to fill the cab with dirt and exhaust.

I can see the exhaust coming in but the top is going to be off except the back

I see wranglers like that all summer long. It can't be so bad.

Besides, half the of the roof is going to be off already. There's going to be lots of air currents either way.

I used to drive my JKU with the back window flipped up all the time. Both highway and side streets This was with the front panels in place but I never had any issues with dying of carbon monoxide poisoning or the window closing. Side note, I have also taken to running my BL softie with the side and back windows removed so it is easier to go top down when needed.

I had it open to after putting gas on my way to work. Let a lot of air through.

I hope my tailgate table didn’t block any of these vents. I don’t believe it did.

My thought on a cheep solution to leave the back window open is to take a piece of PVC pipe cut a slot down the center to allow it to go over the supports and use a little velcro to old it in place. That way the window can't shut.
