Word down the pipe today is that the actual hard top is going to be in short supply in the first year. I didn't ask why, but that wasn't news we wanted to hear.

Agree. the amount they have watered this thing down since first reveal is drastic. the longer I look at it, the less I'm willing to pay. Basically, its an under-powered, compromised form factor that will require extensive additional modification to be usable.

In fords defense. A molded in color white top would be a production pain in the ass

However we have seen 2 types of tops. Molded plastic tops. And painted tops

It would cost ford relatively nothing to offer a premium white painted top.

I have said it before. They are already making them for the freaking white models. Just make more!

The 2 Door had a Body-Color Painted Hard Top Option the first few weeks then Ford removed it from the website.

What I've been thinking about possibly why grey, is that right now it might be the easiest/cheapest/'in greatest supply right now' plastic color to get right now.
Or if they are using recycled plastics, multicolor boils down to gray. It's the only thing I could think of as to why no white top.
It would be GREAT if they had someone in charge of communicating that to us because I could understand that, but sadly, I dont think they do.

Ok so just out of curiosity, if I ordered the oxford white 4dr with the body colored modular painted top, how much would some of you diehard white-toppers pay over and above swapping me for your black painted modular?

Oxford isn't my first paint choice but I'm not completely sold on any color really.

I wanted red Bronco but didn't want to look like a Buckeye nut, I think it will be good with velocity blue, which is the one color I haven't seen yet except on the frames. They don't even have vel blue on the colorizor on the website
