Lincoln still makes cars :)

With total Lincoln sales averaging less than 100K units for the last 20 years, it's pretty doubtful that any real changes to a rebranded Bronco would occur, other then the typical name plates and grill.

The luxury Lincoln and Cadillac trucks didn't really pan out - it seems buyers welcome luxury trims but buying a truck from a luxury marque is a bridge too far.
A Bronco Raptor is already in the same price territory as a Land Rover Defender V8, and I'm not sure we can get close to a true luxury level of refinement without taking it all the way down to the platform and back up. After that, would it really be a Bronco at all?

Some people might say that's just a Ford Explorer or Expedition essentially... However, I would disagree.
I agree with your disagree. :D Even though Ford creates Tremor packages and such for Explorers or other models, those are not at all the same as a Bronco in terms of off-road capability, or even off-road looks. The Lincoln Bronco would be Badlands or Badlands Sasquatch-based but with power-retractable running boards, leather seating and upgraded interior finishes. And even though it would seem like a very pricey Bronco, it would still be reasonable compared to some other vehicles. Even if sales are only 20% of the Bronco, that adds to total sales. And a fixed-roof Bronco would probably increase sales beyond what Ford would have the capacity to manufacture, which is probably the real problem with this whole scenario.

I love Doug, but he is a car nerd and not a car person.

The body on frame does not make a comfortable enough ride for the Sporting Class. The whole concept of Bronco is that it rides rough (bucks), it is the Ranger truck frame below. Taking that out makes a tame Trakehner thoroughbred for dressage meets, and Lincoln already has then big comfy car-based SUVs for that. OBX is for the posh pony people already in Bronco-land.

Just putting leather and expensive finishes in a Bronco wont make it a luxury ride. Would it have air ride like Land Rovers?

Would they be trying to go for the G-wagon people wanting a $170k Ford/Lincoln product? What makes G wagon special is it is not based on other products in the MB lineup other then the engine options, it's not a rugged looking GLS.

Would Ford really go through the trouble to iron out all the frame, suspension, body shape (real roof, noise canceling) just to use engines it already shares between the two nameplates?

We already have the Bronco Sport that is not sporty, so what is the difference to have the Lincoln Thoroughbred King Ranch. I just think when the engineers start deleting things on a Bronco they don't want that there is not enough to work with to make another baby.

This is the key right here. A Land Cruiser is already starting off as somewhat of a luxury vehicle. Jason Cammisa (Hagerty) called it a "stealth wealth vehicle" in his recent video on the history of the vehicle. It doesn't take much engineering and upgrades to bring it up to Lexus standards.

To get a suitable Lincoln version of the Bronco you would have to build it into the bones, which would ultimately raise the price of all the trim levels.

...and for those who say it can't really be done with a body on frame vehicle, again, look at the Land Cruiser/GX/LX models. Those are proper body-on-frame platforms.

How about a Lincoln Bronco unibody Sport instead. 😊 Then they can charge the same as the G6 Raptor for it.

Fixed roof, panoramic Sun roof, nice leather, 20” wheels, no spare hanging off the back, offered in black only because that’s the only color you see on a Lincoln.

I don't think it will happen, but for those who say Lincoln can't build a body on frame vehicle, well, they already do. Both the Navigator (Expedition platform) and Aviator (Explorer platform) are body on frame. By the way, those vehicles are pretty luxurious and quiet. We've had three Lincolns since 2016, and they're pretty nice.

On the other hand, I do think there's a market for a fixed roof Bronco with a panorama roof. I might even be part of that market. Yes, some of you will say it wouldn't be a real Bronco. Well, a lot of folks say that about the Gen 6's anyway.

Ford got people to pay $100K for the Raptor, so why not. If there is a market, make it.

I don’t know about ya’ll but some Lincoln’s be having massage chairs in them seats now.

You can get the same treatment for your back going down the nearest dirt road with the ford bronco HAHA!

Minus the hearing loss and hip replacements later on, I say that’s a pretty solid experience.
“Be having?” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
