I think it would sell well, Im not sure I could afford it... but Id get one if I could.

but if they dropped the removable top/doors, then its just another SUV.

I suspect you'll see it happen somewhere in the next gen when it goes EV.
Perhaps the Lincoln version would have an automatic, powered softtop?

The luxury market has its place. I admit I was being sardonic in my last two posts, but heck, my last ride was a Toyota Sienna AWD XLE Limited with so many features it would have been a Lexus if Toyota Corp put that mark on a minivan. It's just that I'm kind of jealous of the Bronco mark.
I wouldn't be offended if much of the Bronco technology went into a Mercury or Lincoln mark. Just don't cross-confuse the public by insinuating it's a Bronco, please, Ford?

My high school gf's family drove a Mercury Park Lane with the motorized rear window, similar to this:

You say that like it's a bad thing. I know a lot of people who still have love for the Excursion. I think it would be kind of cool if Ford brought it back. You could utilize a SWB 2-door version to produce a fullsize bronco variant and have the LWB 4-door rock the Excursion name.

There's a couple conversions in the wild.

Honestly? I’d be here for it. A cheaper alternative to the G wagon and I’m sure it would sell like crazy, or at least boost sales. Lincoln needs an interesting vehicle. Make the new Defender we deserved. Personally not totally in love with that Star concept they showed off and if that’s their future, count me out.
But yeah differentiate it a bit from the Bronco. Keep the boxy look; a squared off & sloped roofline would look neat and give the impression of a cool stance.
I would be interested in a render or quick photoshop if anyone’s willing. 🤷‍♂️

I'm sure this puts me in the minority. But I'd love to see Lincoln put out a luxury model on the same platform as the bronco. Hoping for a g-wagon-esque off roader from Lincoln.
I kind of agree, but maybe it doesn't have to be a Lincoln? Maybe another trim level incorporating a lot of the luxury features we've come to expect.

It's an interesting idea. If Ford does decide to bring the Everest to the US it might be better to move it up market so as not to cannibalize Bronco Sales. There is clearly a strong and lucrative market for premium, more modestly off-road capable SUV's
Exactly!

My wife drove an Excursion for 14 years. Loved it!

Hahahahaha
They’re cute, but no.
Ford really missed the mark by not naming them the Bronco II in tribute
Except the Bronco has more in common with the Bronco II than the Sport does.
