I really doubt my dealer would have honored it anyway. I’m here for a badass off-roading rig, as far as I’m concerned that’s what I’ll be getting sometime next year

Ford watches these. Maybe they will change.

No offense people, but all this “Ford needs to take care of ME, because I love Ford!” Doesn’t resonate with me. FoMoCo exists first and foremost to create profits for their shareholders; being nice to loyal customers comes further down the list.
If you have an early reservation and this sours you, you have options.

I'm still planning on buying, but it'll reduce the number of accessories I'll get.

Besides the fear of sticker shock, now I know I have to deal with the entire 'car negotiating' business.

I can't wait for the next surprise from Ford.

Not sure how to explain it. But in short car companies spend millions on retaining customers. They brag about it in their commercials. JD Powers releases list on it. If you owned a machine shop you would work hard to retain customers. Every company that is in business tries to retain customers. Not sure why several people don’t realize that. The first year owners of this new product will act as ambassadors for the brand. Muscle cars and off roaders that have clubs tend to be loyal to brand, also tend to try to “recruit” new members. Why do you think the created Bronco Nation? You don’t think that was talked about at a share holders meeting when they looked at the revenue for all the licensed products? At what level do you think they decided to create the off road schools? Every step of the way they banked on the “me”s off this world.
