I was in the same boat, but kept it and i did get scheduled still.

Curious to see how much it actually makes a difference…

For June build scheduling....47% of scheduled builds had the tow package; and 65% of orders in the US Order Bank system had the tow package included...so it stopped some from getting scheduled, but the majority of those who had tow included were unnaffected. My bet is that a lot of people dropped tow package to increase their odds and that the limitation is now less impactful, maybe close to irrelevant.

I'm 99.9% sure I will not be receiving one this summer as I originally hoped (like most people). I've decided I am spending way too much to compromise what I ordered so that I 'potentially' get it a bit earlier.

I didn't remove it and got a VIN on 5/27 with a July 19th build date.

Spoke with my dealer about dropping the tow package and adding it later as a dealer installed option. He advised against it. Indicated the factory installed tow package has twice the capacity as the dealer installed. So I am sticking with the factory option (for now at least).

I have ordered the base model 2 door manual and wasn't able to order the tow package. I would have liked to order the tow package because of the extra tow capacity going from 2500 to 3500 lbs.
It's not just a hitch and 7pin connector.
I don't think it is right to have to upgrade my order by $3000 to be allowed to get the $595 tow package options.
