Isn’t the tow package relatively easy to do after the fact?
Only the 4 pin..the 7 pin has not successfully been done yet.

7 pin is not only for br
I buckled under the pressure, and dropped the tow package when I put in my '22 order. I fell even lower last week, and removed the MIC top, and the 2.7L. Will it help? Only time will tell.

Note: I'm keeping the LUX package if I never get the thing. I ain't goin' any lower.
Keep the MIC, the aftermarket $ will be a deal killer

My suggestion, keep your MIC and ditch tow if you don't need it. If you truly need that 7-pin, don't ditch anything.

Curt has a 4 pin to 7 pin adapter that will take care of anyone wanting to add in the "constant hot 12 volt circuit" for charging on board deep cycle rv batteries from the tow vehicle.

I will be towing in the mountains of CO and at full capacity so a brake controller is a must.

No but you can buy it and add it after the fact. If you buy an aftermarket hitch the Ford controller won't work
Agree. We towed a very lightweight pop-up camper across country and back with our Outlander (max towing 1500lb). Towing over the Rockies is no joke and trailer brakes were absolutely necessary. I was extremely thankful for them several times in the trip. I won't tow a camper without trailer brakes (and adding the wiring and controller to the outlander was a PITA and aesthetically a messy job, I don't want to do that to a brand new vehicle under warranty). Keeping the tow package here too.

I have an October order- Badlands SAS, MIC, 2.7. Do you think removing the tow package would help or don't bother?
I can safely say that I have never once owned a truck and thought “man I sure am glad I don’t have a hitch on this thing.”

Didn't say I wasn't going to have a hitch. Want to know whether I should add it myself later or not. Helps if you can read

It's all luck, but Ford gave dealers a commodity list with % a week or two ago. MIC is the worst, Tow is second, 3rd is modular bumper, 4th is a tie between front e Lock and Paint protection, but the first two are MUCH bigger issues than all the others, You can add 3rd and 4th (one of them) together and not have as much of an issue of as just tow.

You probably should pay to get work done.
Yep, ordered the factory one. A no brainer.
I never questioned it. But some people have different needs.
To each his own.

But if you wire the charging connection straight to your battery, what keeps your trailer from draining your starter batt?

And of course, the adapter doesn't provide for the reverse trigger or brake controller. I would think anything you are towing that needs a charge, would need at least one of those other options.

literally yesterday I was speaking to my dealer and he suggested removal...so Tow is out

This is sitting on the lot at a local dealer here in Southern California.
Lots of the deadly sins on here. Hard top, leather, lux, tow, Wildtrak, ect.
Someone ordered it and couldn't get the financing for it.
This shows that they are being built with the major constraints.
I'm sure this one will sell at a large markup.
I think I'll just wait for mine. LOL

Don't take it to the battery, take it to a ignition protected circuit.
