The ball end mentioned in the video is to replace the gas spring end that connects to the tailgate. It is very thin plastic so we supplied the metal replacement.

I finally got around to installing the M2M tailgate limiter today. Very nice, no issues installing it, pretty straight forward. I've been meaning to do this for awhile because opening the tailgate in limited space especially with the wind blowing or if you are on an incline can be tricky.

I initially tried it at 120, 110 and 100 before deciding on 100 being the sweet spot like the OP.

One looks like CNC aluminum along with upgraded strut parts.

The other is bent stainless steel.

Both essentially do the same.

If I ever need a tailgate range limiter, this will be the route I go. $12, just need to drill a few holes.

Too thin. Needs to be thicker or will bend.

Anyone have the metal piece that installs at the end of the gas strut strip off? That just happened to mine and I can’t tell for sure if the small metal piece or the gas strut piston is stripped.
