So... when I take apart the Ford (non B&O) speaker pod, it does not look like the Mabett video. There is a small cylinder in line between the two connectors. It won't seem to fit through the hole so that I can take out the existing wiring.

I'm not sure if this is a later change in how the speaker is wired. What did you guys do to work around this? I'm not experienced with audio stuff and I'm sure I'm missing something easy.

Once this is done, I assume you cut off the smaller connector to the old speaker and attach the wires to the new speaker. They are both black on the Ford wire but black/red on the speaker-- does it matter which is which?

Thanks!

Not a bad idea. The existing harness is difficult to remove for several reasons and I haven't done it yet.

That link is broken -- can you try again? I'm not sure I'm finding the right one.

Worth a shot. Thanks for the idea.

I see harnesses on Amazon and from Crutchfield for the door speakers, but not the roll bar speaker pods. Dang it. That was a good idea. :(

I used the harness I bought when changed out the 4 inch rear speakers earlier as didn't want to mess with stock gasket either. I don't have part number quickly but was definitely Amazon amd found in a speaker upgrade post. Will see if can find order.

It seems B6G is preventing the link from working. Seemed like a banned vendor or something. The link works in my web browser, but not when I copy/paste here.

Try searching Amazon. It’s the same harness used for the 4” dash speakers.

Yes -- I finally found that. There are also some options available on eBay from a seller called fast-daddy. He makes them and sells them.

I'm going to order this and see what happens.
