I decided against needing marine grade and ordered the Kicker DS model. Speaker pods are inbound before Christmas, so we will see...

I used Kicker KS series speakers all around. They sound great and won't kill the wallet.

Are you using the Kicker Amp as well with the Kicker speakers?

I'm using a Euphoria 100.4 on the front 3 4" speakers, the kick panels and rear pods on another Euphoria 100.4. The sub is a 8" kicker on a bridged Kicker 800.4.

Appreciate the response! Where do you even store/mount those amps? I have to imagine that they’re either under the rear seats or in the trunk?

I’m currently using a Kicker 200.4 and the damn thing clips the front speakers at any volume level above 17 which simply isn’t loud enough for my needs 😿

I mounted the focal amps under the front seats. 1 per seat and the Kicker amp where the original B & O amp was by the sub..

Yes Sir, speakers and amp. The 8" Kicker sub in the stock enclosure sounds great, however if you want car rattling bass I would upgrade to something else with a 10" or 12" sub. The 8" was fine for me because I listen to old school music with real instruments....lol!

I just did this a couple nights ago, I went with Kicker 6.75" speakers (model 47KSC6704)... SUPER happy with them, and the were pretty affordable at just $116 a pair from Crutchfield ...

Same here. Big difference is speaker size and sound. 6 3/4" and the 4".

A little older thread, but this should be good info for those that might search and end up here.

The Mabett rear pods are sized for the newer 6.75" speakers with a 5.5" mounting hole. The traditional 6.5" speaker with a 5" mounting hole is not a good fit. Some manufacturers list the larger speakers still as 6.5", so you really want to drill down to the mounting template to confirm.

The Polk DB651s for example do not fit, 5" cutout and 6" overall diameter.

The Hertz X-170 is a good fit, 5.5" cutout and 6.5" overall diameter.

The smaller diameter 6.5" speaker mounting holes do not reach the Mabett mounting holes, you need the 6.5" overall diameter of the 6.75" speaker to fit properly.

Also, you have to watch out for tweeter protrusion. The Infinity REF series has an angled tweeter that extends above the mounting ring enough that the Mabett grills do not seat flush and the tweeter interferes with the grill mounting.

The Rockford Fosgate T series does not fit.

I've seen where people have cut holes in the grill for the coax tweeters... Yuk.

Known fitments:

Kicker CSC67, 46CSC674 and DSC670, 43DSC6704
Hertz X-170
Rockford R1675X2
MB Quart RK1-116
Kenwood KFC-1796PS

There are many others, but just do a little research before buying...

Does anyone know if a JBL GX 628 GX series will fit into the Mabett Pods without a problem closing them???? Need advice.
