Do you need to register that in 2 adjacent zip codes?
Well, Texas is like that, I live in one town but for those of us that live within about a 1/2 mile of the town border we are zoned for the other towns schools. So on my annual county property tax bill, I pay city tax to one town and school tax to the other.

Or as the local news calls it:
The political geography of Texas is byzantine, born from an idea that’s been embraced since the state’s creation: local control.
Why do cities, counties and school districts have wacky boundaries? Curious Texas brings the history

Yeah you just described an El Camino... How's that working out.
I... I did not.
I didn't make any kind of description that would relate to a body on frame, V8 El Camino. The new mini truck is gonna be a 4 cylinder with unibody construction. More akin to the 1st and 2nd gen ranger than an El Camino. But whatever floats your boat, both the Ranger and El Camino were finacially successful.

Don't start this shit again. You are wrong.
I literally looked it up before posting. What part am I wrong about? The size of the Ranger or that the F150 used to be smaller? (Hint: it's neither.) It wasn't until 2004 that the F-150 outgrew the current Ranger.

Meh. When I was looking at houses, I saw one not far from where we lived at the time. The house was in one state and the garage was in another state, meaning property taxes were paid to two different states, based on the land in each and the value of the structures. I passed, wondering how complicated things would be if I ever needed to call for emergency services. ;) 😄

I'm just saying a man should never get into a size war because there's always something bigger. 😄

Oh, so you only want to look at the longer-wheelbase models and ignore that there are Rangers today that are bigger than some F150s from not all that long ago. I never said Rangers were bigger than all F150s. I guess people that bought those F150s didn't have real F150s because they weren't big enough?

Would you prefer I had said, "As recently as 2004, it was possible to buy an F150 that is shorter than the current Ranger"?

The reason I chose the SuperCab is because that configuration is available across all of the models in my table. Can you buy a regular cab short box Ranger today? If so show me the dimensions. If you want to make an HONEST comparison you have to compare the same cab/bed configuration. Anything else is not an equal comparison.

You'd make sure you got your butt over into the side of the property that had the faster and better services, for sure.

"He looks a lot like a car ran over him - see the grease and tire tread marks - are you sure that happened in the kitchen?"

"Oh, we do drive thru dinners in our house..."

Length is length. That's like saying two six-feet tall men aren't the same height because one has longer legs.

Your point explains things as well. What would be the point if the Ranger was nearly as long as the F150? It wouldn't sell. So it needs to be appreciably smaller to be in a separate size class. The Ranger SuperCab and SuperCrew are the same length in large part because Ford couldn't sell enough to justify the variations, but also because a longer Ranger SuperCrew would clearly step into F150 territory. Likewise, if there was a Standard Cab Ranger today, it would be every bit as long as the current Standard Cab F150.

My original comment refuted a statement that the Ranger is small. It's not. It's no shorter than a Standard Cab F150. But if someone wants to say that's small, I guess that's their perspective. The original Ranger started out at 175". Even the Super Cab was only 192" That's a full foot-and-a-half shorter than the current Ranger and about 6" less wide.

I don't think this sidebar is going anywhere and I don't need to plant my flag on this hill, so I leave this data and let anyone reading make their own conclusions.
