Hey Guys,

Long time lurker and occasional poster. I’ve had my BL with hard top for about 6 months. I have gotten to the point where the front top panels go on and come off pretty easily (I think I have learned most of the nuances by now).

One thing I have not figured out yet is how to easily get them into that storage bag. It feels like the bag is just barely too small. I can get them in there but it takes a ton If work, especially considering I do not want to bang them up after waiting so long to get my Bronco.

My Current process: driver-side goes in first, top side facing down (window side on the left), then fold the inner protective cover over the panel. Next, passenger side, top side facing up (window side on my right). Obviously making sure the clamps are closed before going into the bag. I found turning one of the swivel latches seems to help clearance, but for the life of me the bag will not zip close. I suppose I could just leave it open but don’t want them to slide around.

Do you guys have any tips or tricks to getting them fit right into the bag and zip them up (ie, driver side maybe going in last or positioning the swivels in a certain position, etc)?

It’s also possible I am just making it too hard. 😀 Just wanted to see if I am the only one.

Thanks in advance!

I always put mine in top side out, window seal facing opposite side of each other. Zips up fine for me.

Hmm…thanks for the input. Sounds like we are doing the same thing. Maybe something’s up with my bag. Or could be me, ha

Are you matching the window side of the top to the rounded part of the bag?

I tried ONCE with that fucking bag.
Seems like it's about 1/8" bigger than it needs to be, and it needs to be about 4 inches bigger than it needs to be.
Total PIA.
I just bungee the tops to the back of the seats.

I believe so. I lay the bag flat in the back and then the rounded sides of the panels go on the left and the right following the contours of the bag.

it’s as if I cannot get them to go down deep enough into the bag to close it.

This is my exact experience.

Glad it’s not just me. I thought maybe I was just missing something. Surely taking the tops off would be harder than storing them.

It’s been a pita for me too. Instead I just lay the driver panel flat in the back and then place the bag on top of it, and then the passenger panel on top of that. Seems to be okay and it doesn’t slide around in the back.

They are tight, only advise I can give is latches closed and curve side of bag matching the curve of the top.

Matching up the curve with the pads on the bottom of the bag, curve side matching. Drivers in first, cover and then insert passenger curve matching the bag. This worked great for me.

Thank you for the pictures. I think what may be eating me up is not the placement / orientation of the panels in the bag (as it sounds I like I have that part right) but the fact that I am loading the bag while it is laying flat in the back of the Bronco instead of upright while it is on the ground. I will try that. I haven’t had the top off in a while so we will see how that goes. Thanks!
