Anyone try mounting it to a molle panel? My radio is on the way. I have a molle panel on the passenger side console. Either there or under seat. Not sure yet. Power source and maybe USB remote to consider also. Nothing is easy and/or goes smooth. Will post pics when I gettr' done.

For us the front passenger side console was rough on the passengers left knee.
I've seen radios mounted on the rear side window shelf and long cable coming to the front for the mic connection. Usually with a rear mounted antenna. Also there may be room above the sun visor if you provide a mount for the radio body. Hardware stores have aluminum angle and straight that is easy to use.

OK not sure if all these pictures will post in order but here’s what I did. I mounted the GMRS in the center consul. It’s still in the factory bracket so it’s easily removable. To get power to the unit I took the back of the console off where the two rear window switches are. (Pull it straight back - only clipped in)

I tapped into the powerline for the 12 V lighter that’s already there.
I guess if you don’t wanna tap that wire you could certainly just plug the unit right into the lighter socket that’s already in the consul.
I bought one of the organizers for the consul and you can see I placed it over the radio, and drilled a hole that’s large enough for me to unplug the microphone while the cover is in place. There’s already a notch cut in the consul for a wire to exit so it’s the perfect place for the microphone line to run. The control head, or microphone, I just leave hooked on the molle panel on the consul.

I ran both the antenna line out the same hole that I drilled in the bottom of the consul. If you were looking at the back of the consul from the rear of the vehicle facing to the front of the truck I drilled it in the furthest right lowest area so the hole for the antenna actually comes in underneath where the radio is mounted. You can’t see it.
From there I kept the antenna wire under the consul trim all the way up through to the dashboard out the front by the master cylinder and you can see where I mounted the antenna. I made a quick bracket to mount it to the same area where my ditch lights are.

I ordered the Midland MXT575 and the M2M mount.
Reviewed maybe all of the BroncoG6 threads about the best way to mount and was thinking I would mount like the MXT275 and notch the glovebox.
Removed the glovebox today to do the install.
After careful review I did the following and had no need to notch the glovebox.
Take a look at the first picture and I took a brand-new utility blade and made 2 cuts in the dash plastic support (next to the 2 pieces of white tape.) This allowed me to move the radio deeper into the dash. Looking at the rest of the pictures you can see exactly where I mounted the radio mount to the M2M mount and installed as intended by M2M.

DocBrown did you have any issues with this install? Any tips or suggestions? This is the ideal way to go from my prospective is she fits.
Thanks!
