I would be cussing the devil try to do a minor repair on the 2.7 motor because of the room space.
The 2.3 has a ton of empty bay space on both sides . So after years of use in time small repairs will be needed . I tend to keep my vehicles many Years .

Do you have pictures of the differences in room space to illustrate your point? Or just some words all jammed together?

I only have seen the two side by side so I sure can comment about the two and the extra space on the 2.3 motor .

This is like saying I saw a 2.3 and 5.0 mustang in a picture and bought the 2.3 since it looks easier to work on, right? #notacarguy

More like comparing working on a 289 k-code or a 351 cleveland HO. Yes the cleveland has those big breathing heads and can make 500hp no sweat, but the 289 will rev well and can support more power and torque than the stock cleveland. However you can change all the sparkplugs and keep your knuckes when you have the 289 in a 62-77 mustang/cougar/falcon/comet/maverick.

The benefits of an in-line engine, better heat control and access to the engine.
This is true, however most of the mess on the 2.7 is just plumbing which isn't that hard to get out of the way it. it just takes more time. For me low end torque is king ;)

The 2.3L is about as messy in the plumbing design as well. Good thing modern cars don't need much servicing of the engine.
