I'm jealous. My 2.7 4dr Sas is stuck at 15 city & at best 17 highway doing 75. I don't know what I'll doing wrong. I even tried to stay out of boost but no change. Y'all have magic mpg numbers here.

I've seen as high as 19 mpg but a lot of that is all by the trip meter and you can change your results significantly by resetting it. I tend to look at it like fuel trims...they average out over time and tend to settle on a more stable number since there are more data points and any change in gas usage is a smaller percentage of the overall picture. But if you fill up, jump on the highway, reset the meter, you'll see decent numbers. I'm currently sitting at about 14.7 mpg which is a mixture of off road, highway and city. Not great but I don't really regret it.

I've also noticed I get about 1-2 mpg more when I run premium. Gas mileage is definitely worse with 87, even on the highway. I'm now using a rewards gas card to get a good bit off of my per gallon price so even premium is below what I'd pay at say Costco for a top tier gas. I know prices are high right now and it's having an effect on everyone. Every little bit helps. The engine is far more responsive with 93 than with 87.

Just got back from a 2500 miles trip (1250 each way).... I-40 mostly from NE Oklahoma to Vegas and back... interstate mostly and was going 75-83'ish, ran about 80mph almost all the way and got 18.7mpg. 25 Badlands, V-6, 10 speed auto, "Normal" mode, tires at 42psi starting out in the mornings, using A/C and cruise a lot.... as a bonus I got my first cracked windshield on this trip... times 3! A 2.5" nice star behind the mirror, 10" crack from edge on passenger side, and a small chip/crack in driver's side. All near or coming out of road construction zones... Now I'll get to see how good that 5 year windshield warranty is that I got with the purchase of the vehicle... (the cracks did nothing for my aerodynamics).

In town I get about 16mpg in Normal mode.

Mine doesn't register MPG (Miles per Gallon). Mine registers GPM.

Anyone else get less MPG on the highway vs in town driving?
2025 Big Bend - in town driving average 21.9 MPG, but on the highway it drops to 20 MPG.
Normally, in every other vehichle I've owned the MPG increases on the highway.
Thanks!
You have to remember that we are in a big box with the aerodynamics of a brick.

That said, I had a massive tailwind when I drove to LBL earlier this month and had a dash-indicated 29.0mpg running ethanol-free gas. The same drive home dropped the dash-indicated down almost 2 miles per gallon. The 29 is an outlier.

There is a noticeable difference for me with ethanol-free versus the usual 10-15% pump crap, but costs dont always justify its use. For example, premium in Amarillo was 3.809 while ethanol-free was almost a dollar more. Meanwhile, it was still $4.299 locally which isnt much more than premium pump pricing that has ethanol.

Also, a substantial drop-off comes in for me over 70mph. This is with the 2.3 7spd in a 2dr Badlands, so 4.70 gearing for me.

How in the world are you guys getting decent MPGs? I have BFG 35s, I average 14.5-15 in town, easy on the gas pedal, and hwy (@75-80MPH) I might see 16, I do get better if going 65, I can see 18 MPGs at that speed. I did notice a huge drop in mileage when I went from the GY tires to these BFGs, so I hope when I change tires again, and possibly wheels, I might see my MPGs bump back up with the lower rolling weight, for now, it is what it is.
My partner and I go through this every fill up. We have the same broncos. 4dr Sasquatch, 2.3 auto and she averages 16 mostly city and I average 21 same type of driving.

I drove us in her Bronco for an 800 mile roadtrip and I hit 23.5 mpg on the east side of wa state. I told her to quit driving it like she stole it. 😂

All mpg was hand calculated.
