I'm not really sure since I've never had the US Army one. I would think its alot more durable than the Rhino. The only time I've really used it is for fire pits as well or if I really need it offroading. How does the Rhino shovel compare to a US army encampment tool? I have the latter and it is built to withstand a nuclear blast. Have not had to use it yet except for digging fire pits.
You are correct it is GMRS radio. It was a bit of a pricey upgrade but I like it more than the handheld. Since I don't have to charge it up. I only use it when I'm caravaning with friends to our destination or at the trail so we can communicate. How do you like the Baofeng? I was looking at that one but I ended up going with a cheap handheld from Radioddity when I need to get out of my vehicle.Probably GMRS. Hardly anyone other than truckers does CB. I have a cheapie Baofeng in my Bronco, bought it mostly for the very rare group trip from the local club that I attend. Yet to find any real use for it beyond that, glad that I did not spring for anything more expensive.
Thank you! Ya I thought it would be helpful to add the parts list since that was always my issue when looking at others posts. Had to dig through pages of responses to get the answer I needed.Excellent build post!
Way too many posts here with just pics and no further/minimal info, followed by 62 pages of the same questions on repeat.
...and of course the build itself is very sharp. A whole lot of functionality going on there.
I dig the mounting of the S5's vs S3's & 2's in the pockets. Up outta harms way! Thanks for the idea!!! Been eyeballing some type of fog/driving light for those extra dark nights.
Thanks, yeah, that is why I was looking at it. Mine is on a rail car in MI still and I plan on Baja Boss AT's so the tailgate reinforcement is a must I would think.......being able to add the shelf is a plus with M2M.I really like it a lot because I was able to buy the accessory bracket with it for not too much more. It’s why I went with them vs others.
My only suggestion is when you’re installing it might want to do it with two people. Sort of a pain to get the tailgate screws aligned while holding it yourself. Be super careful when installing cause you can misalign your tailgate when you unscrew it. Why you need cardboard to prop it up. This is really for any install though.
Aw man, thats one of my favorite features! Haha I did swap the lame grab handle for a base model delete panel tho.I personally hope that for the 2025 Bronco refresh they get rid of the giant dated gear shifter and move towards a dial or buttons like most new vehicles to provide more storage.
Looks awesome I’ve enjoyed it myself July of 22 43k on it lolI've been working on my Bronco since 2021 slowly upgrading it, and it's been an absolute blast! The Bronco6G forum has been a fantastic resource for ideas so thank you. I've gone on multiple off-roading/camping trips, from Big Bend to the Grand Canyon to Colorado. With hopefully more to come since I try to do at least 2-3 camping/off road trips a year. The truck has held up extremely well with very few things to complain about.
I'll include pics below on what it first looked like when I received my Bronco to what it is today.
If you're wondering about the details, I've compiled a list of the parts I've installed for those who might be curious.

Is it this? I looked twice but didn't see it on your master list.It is! Honestly, was a great upgrade anything to do with more storage in the front was worth it to me since there is so little of it. I also added the front door M2M Door Molle.
