My Wildtrak died on the side of the road

I had to go out of town... on way back from dropping me off at airport my husband said it died while driving 50mph... check engine light on. It'd start back up but not stay running. So sad. I was hoping that my 2.7 would be one of the lucky ones.. it was awful to see a pic of it on the flatbed...

My husband is good at knowing what's wrong with cars and he said fuel pump too... I hope its nothing serious.

Fuel pump. If it sucked a valve it would be obvious.

If it's a 2021, during that valve window, then You would know it, because it will not turn over and definitely would not attempt to start again.

When they just die, chances are it's the fuel pump. That is a known issue, no rhyme or reason, no pattern that we've ever been able to figure out.

What year, and how many miles?

2022 with about 3600 miles. Ford said something burned up in the battery junction box. They ordered parts which they said would be here tomorrow...

Curious if it was caused by the loose ground in the BJB that some have mentioned.

Very true. Even the guy driving thought it was the fuel pump. But you know- internet after the fact experts can’t wait to chime in. Same ones who swore there were only 2-3 blown 2.7’s last year. And I’m quite sure I’d prefer the fuel pump go bad. Nothing could go wrong in a new PCM install I’m sure.
