You make normal sound pretty... economical... to me.
Maybe that is the point. It is a software setting to ease back on all of the other "let's push the limit" categories. Generally speaking, if equipment is run flat out all of the time it has a greater chance of premature failure.

Does Ford use cylinder deactivation? I know it’s generally used on V6 and V8 as they have to be opposing sides or something. But maybe eco is cylinder deactivation, normal is normal and sport is just a tuned normal? Otherwise yes this makes no sense.

That’s how I roll. Unless in a hurry, eco is fine.
Biggest annoyance Ford does is it reverts to the normal drive mode when you turn off you vehicle. I understand why, but it would be ok if you were in eco and you turned off your car to get gas and it remained in eco when you restarted. I personally think they should put a timer on it. If off less than “x” minutes, remain in current mode.
Thats funny, my default mode in my Challenger is eco actually, I have to change from eco to sport or track mode. I use eco a lot though because driving stop light to stop light with 500HP is sometimes kind of a chore to keep from barking the tires while everyone thinks you’re trying to race them.

Eco mode serves one primary purpose, inflating the mpg as much as possible to keep the average up across all models to meet government regulations.

I didn’t think we were aiming for normal. Looking at the bronco, it seems like there was a lot of effort taken to eliminate weaknesses of past broncos and current competitors. The goal was to come out with something that is the best. Is there a reason Ford doesn’t eliminate “normal” in the highest trim bronco (badlands) and install sports mode instead? It makes more sense for eco mode to be the default mode any way.
The simple answer is buy a 7MT, drive the hell out of it in normal so the engine learns to be aggressive in that mode, and drive lightly only in eco mode.

My mercedes has sport mode. Honestly never used it! I use comfort mode mostly. Then off road! I think I'm going be just fine in my BLs in normal!! ?? I think she will still fly on the interstate no problems!!

I feel ya. I got a 500hp plus one that doesn’t have any drive modes. Lol

Oddly, enough I get better MPG with eco turned off than I do with it on.

Haha I bet that’s fun! I still use sport a lot but damn it can be a pain in the city.

Same. I drive primarily in comfort mode, but I turn on the sport+ mode on the exhaust. I do put in it sport+ mode when I want to get squirrely on the streets, or jam on the freeway, which is sometimes difficult to do in LA traffic.

What is the expectation for "Sport" mode? Will it run like the Bronco Sport?

Do people think they can challenge Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers?

Without Sport Mode, is the fear the Wrangler will race ahead from a stop light?

Is there an underground SUV and crossover drag racing circle I'm not aware of? Sport sounds fun - but are Normal and Eco programs designed to take 310 horsepower and make it feel like 90?
