After I started getting random errors come up on my dash I bought a new battery and haven’t had any more issues. Mine could have been a different scenario though. What gave me the idea that it was the battery is when my vehicle automatically disengaged the auto start/stop in Normal mode.

Better late than never? Finally received alerts in Ford Pass App.

It’s odd. The alerts in Messages have a timestamp of 7:54AM on Friday (which is the following morning when were headed to the mountain). But, they didn’t appear until today. But, the alerts under the wrench icon show 7:55PM today (20 minutes ago) even though I’ve driven my truck several times today since 8AM.

I guess this is not all that exciting. Just concerning that I’m not getting alerts if something was actually wrong.

Alright. All fixed. Left rear sensor was shot AND there was a wire short. Double whammy.

Glad that was an easy fix and obviously covered.

Also, realized the alerts under the wrench icon are always just updated with the latest timestamp. These are the first codes I’ve had since the new app. Still doesn’t explain why I didn’t get the messages until a few days later.

Remember that one week when FordPass told everyone their Broncos were located in Dearborn MI?

Yeah, FordPass is just like that sometimes.

Also, realized I wrote short and short. Fixed. Sensor was shot AND there was a wire short that they found after replacing the sensor. Codes cleared and then came back during test drive. Wonder which one came first.

Reminds me of my random Christmas tree lights that would only happen once a month on my old bronco. Vehicle would go into limp mode but if i shut it off and started it back up it would be perfect for another month or so. Never any codes. Dealer scanned everything and didn’t find anything.

Finally one day when it went crazy again i kept it running and was right next to my dealer. Drove it right over without shutting it off and had them scan it. Out of a bunch of codes one stood out which was the crank position sensor. Tech dug into more, scoped where the sensor goes and saw the tone ring had a few bent teeth. Once the ring was replaced it never happened again.

I assume someone dropped the part during assembly and said f-it and installed it anyway.

I bet the sensor was fine and the wire was the issue all along…

I thought the same thing and asked that exact question - but, of course I got “part was bad, needed to be replaced”. I sort of doubt it, but because it was under warranty - they gotta get paid/reimbursed.
