Figured since I asked about it here (#30), and neither Spit nor I were sure, time to ask here.

Figure why not ditch the standard fluid and get Gold Standard Performance grade fluid, something vastly superior.

Not sure it's even necessary, but can you put a price on peace of mind?

Amsoil. Getrag tranmissions are a little notchy feeling when cold. You'll feel it immediately, especially in cold weather. When it begins to feel notchy again before the fluid warms up...time to change it again. Amsoil may not "recommend a product at this time," but the Amsoil MTF will be perfect.

I like Redline MT oil for when it's time for a change.

Ill take a look at both, ty. Its no longer notchy as its no longer cold out, but again, why stick with standard when you can upgrade.

The MT on my 2004 TJ was always a little notchy when cold. Switched to Redline MT and it improved significantly. I would use this if I had a manual trans.

I don't think I'll ever get to the point of ponying up for their engine oil, but I use their fluids in every transmission, transfer case and differential in my garage. Been very good medicine in my BMW and Triumph.
