BTW, I installed this in about 15 minutes in the garage. I just verified you can lock the plastic lid with the console vault installed. I don't think of it as super secure or anything, but it's more a deterrent than it is trying to actually be totally secure.

Is that a cutout at the bottom to leave space for when your key fob is dead and you need to start the vehicle?

I know someone on here asked whether the vault had allowance for that.

Is there a 12v charging point in the armrest? If so, I guess thats not usable with the vault.

Installed mine today. Took around an hour total. Overall it wasn’t too hard. The worst part was trying to find enough room in the middle of the console to tighten everything down with the socket wrench. Definitely gonna need a small one to get inside that space. My Smith & Wesson 9mm fits easily inside with room to spare.

Thanks. I have a Walther PPS (3.2”barrel), so I think it’s a similar size and would fit. Do you think a larger handgun would fit, like the S&W M&P full size?

It should. I did a measurement and there is still 1.5 inches of room left from the end of my gun to the console wall. A few pics I took:

i like the idea of the safe box in the console, but i am afraid that the numbers on the combination rollers are so tiny that i would need coke bottle thick reading glasses to see them. haha.
