The yellow is a piece of plastic which they attach to rub points so the fenders and/or panels don't get damaged on the assembly line. It's just like an insulating piece in case something hits the fender. It was red on my GT350. I have production line videos lol.

Sorry if I missed this, looks like this is the regular led headlamp, not signature. Almost looks like it has a HALO, but maybe that is a metal ring around it. With the standard headlamps, does anyone know if the daytime running portion of this light is LED as well?

My understanding is that everything about every headlight is LED. The Signature one has the white ring and dash as the DRL.

I think what we're seeing here is just a chrome ring around the standard light.

The DRL portion of this light will likely just be the normal headlight... so because the normal headlight is entirely LED... then the answer to your question is... Yes. (But I don't think that's what you're asking.)

Am I the only one who thinks production schedule is moving quick?

Like they say "delivery in June next year," but it def seems this plant is ready to go... & it's September...

I get B&P is delayed, but this looks promising.
No, unfortunately nothing about this is promising. They will build 138 more this month, don't get excited by that either. These will all be testers, most will be crushed and recycled. They still have tooling to complete over the Christmas/New Year break before the entire line is even ready. Still June deliveries for the first to come off the line, at the earliest.

Fine by me man. As much as I want my new Bronco, best for them to work out the assembly line issues before they build mine! This is after-all an almost 100% brand new vehicle (I say almost because there are some things that are re-used over vehicles).

Take your time Ford. lol

Ksjrb03 - It sounds like you have a good understanding of the process. Could you please provide some additional color as to the steps and anticipated timing going forward? Thanks.

I love Iconic Silver for that sheer metal, unpainted raw look.
But...
Every car nowadays is (some form of) greyscale... which I REALLY hate.
Do we have personalities anymore? Or we live in this "utopian" (twittermob?) future... where the only thought is "sanctioned thought" & we can't be unique or creative?
I get it, tin-foil hat guy right here...
But damn...
I might just buck ? the trend & go Race Red or Cyber Orange.

Can someone with knowledge of the production process explain why the hood would be attached during production and not just added after the engine work is completed? Seems like an unnecessary hazard for the workers.

I have a couple sources I trust, yes. What I have heard: Anything built this year will be testing the tooling they did over the Labor Day break, and these vehicles will be used for testing, crashing, or sent straight to the crusher after inspections. My understanding is there are no plans to send mass Broncos to dealerships for show and tell. There is a program where dealerships can receive two Sports for use as courtesy vehicles and showpieces. I think there is a lot of confusion around that with dealers.

They will complete tooling of the plant over the Holiday break. Job 1 is scheduled for mid March. Production will start very slowly, and the initial builds will not be shipped right away. There is very strenuous quality control inspections and testing done before they are certified to send to customers. Initial shipments expected in June. Production will be a very slow ramp up to a maximum capacity of ~800 Broncos a day once at max production. This is with the Ranger being built on the same line, and current estimates of Bronco/Ranger production mix. How slow that ramp up will be I don't know, I've received different answers. But they will not be building 800 Broncos a day for a while. Most of us are in for a wait, as long as we know that and are prepared nobody should be surprised.

They currently run 1 shift a day, 5 days a week. Once Bronco is going, it will be 2 shifts a day, with some Saturdays as well. Hiring/training is supposed to be well before Job 1 starts. None of this takes into account COVID related supply chain issues, which many vehicles are, and have been experiencing.

It's pretty standard, there are 6 absolutely mandatory colors every car must be available in from all manufacturers. Then somewhere between 0 and 3 other colors for an existing production vehicle which could be trim dependent. If it's a new vehicle to market then rotate in/out one color for each year before the mid-model-refresh

  • Black
  • white
  • dark gray/silver
  • light gray/silver
  • Red
    • If an "exciting" car, this is a brighter non-metallic
    • if a standard volume car, this is a darker and muted metallic red
  • Blue
    • If an "exciting" car, this is a brighter metallic
    • If a standard volume car, this is a lighter and non-offensive metallic blue

Enough foreplay...hey, I'm a guy, enough with the "Bronco Teaser/Porn" photos, even though we can't actually lay hands on one for several months, we all at least want to see the rigs in these photos fully assembled and rolling off the end of the production line in actual sunlight so we all can get a bettter idea of what the colors look like under actual conditions. I know "Patience Grasshopper"!

I saw Iconic silver today on a Ranger and while I was jaw dropped at these pictures, it wasn't the same in real life. On the curves, you get that black chrome effect, but the majority of surfaces just looked like metallic silver. There also wasn't near as much depth.

So, then Yellow / Cyber Orange must be like a SUPER EXCITING red?
